Melrose essential oil has a lot of desirable properties that make it useful in treating a wide range of conditions and ailments.
Interest in natural medicine continues to grow. As it does so, both consumers and companies are looking in some unusual places for new treatments. This includes solutions for any number of health problems, from tooth decay to cancer.
Essential oils
One place people are seeking new medicines is essential oils. These are a type of oil derived from plants by distilling the plants down to their most basic fluids.
The name comes from the fact that the oil extract contains the plant’s “essence”. This is what gives a plant its unique fragrance.
There are several ways of extracting essential oils. The usual method of extraction is distillation using intense steam. Other methods include expression and cold pressing.
A dizzying number of products use the resulting essential oils. Perfumes are only the beginning. Cosmetics, soap, flavors and scents can all start as a simple essential oil.
And essential oils can be used to treat an incredible number of beauty and health issues too, including allergies, colds, neuropathy, arthritis and hemorrhoids, among many others. And they can also be used to treat skin problems such as psoriasis, as well as to help with weight loss too. Essential oils can even be helpful when it comes to stimulating hair growth and preventing hair loss.
Melrose essential oil
Of particular note to many consumers is melrose essential oil. This oil is most useful in the care of human skin and the scalp. It protects the skin against a range of threats via its properties. Among its many qualities are its antiseptic, antifungal and antimicrobial properties.
What is melrose oil?
Melrose oil is not the result of extracting a single plant’s essential oils. Rather, it’s a combination of four essential oils:
- Melaleuca essential oil is the primary ingredient of melrose essential oil. It provides properties that prevent infections, purge bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi. It also helps in preventing inflammation. And melaleuca is also used to stimulate the immune system and sees use as a decongestant.
- Naouli essence prevents inflammation to the respiratory system. It also has strong antiseptic properties and acts as a disinfectant. This makes it useful for cleaning wounds. It’s also often used to treat cystitis.
- Rosemary oil has powerful antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. It also aids in overcoming mental fatigue. And it helps stimulate memory and the consciousness.
- Finally, clove oil is one of nature’s most powerful antiseptic and antimicrobial essential oils. It’s also used as a stimulant.
Uses
There are many areas where melrose oil is useful. Here are just some of the things it’s used for:
- Melrose oil prevents cuts, scrapes, burns, rashes and bruises becoming infected. It heals the damage quicker, preventing permanent scarring and blemishes.
- Melrose essential oil is also used to assist with the regeneration of damaged tissue. This helps undo scars and blemishes from past incidents. This makes it invaluable in treating what may have seemed permanent damage to the skin.
- You can also use it to treat eczema, cold sores and other skin conditions.
- It can also ward off fungi that burrow into the microscopic cracks in the human skin. It purges the fungi through it’s antiseptic-like properties.
- Melrose oil is also used for the treatment of urinary and respiratory tract conditions.
- You can also diffuse melrose oil to help purify the air, and to remove any odors.
How to use
Melrose oil’s most common method of use is topical, i.e. direct application on the skin. You can also use it aromatically via diffusion.
When applying it topically, the normal method is just to apply it straight on the affected area. You don’t need to dilute it unless your skin shows signs of sensitivity to it.
For aromatic use, you can diffuse melrose oil three times a day for thirty minutes each time. You can also inhale it directly.
A word of caution
You should use melrose oil with care. If you’re pregnant or have underlying health issues, you should consult your doctor first. This is true of all essential oils.
You also shouldn’t use it on infants or small children. Their bodies are more sensitive to the effects of melrose oil. For all others, melrose oil can be a natural means to heal, cleanse and protect their skin in a safe manner. You can learn more about essential oils in my introductory guide.
